SMG Sports Card Story
What's up everyone, and welcome to our SMG Sports Card Website! As a young kid, I absolutely loved collecting sports cards. It meant everything in the world to me when I got the chance to go to a card show or our local sports card shop. I remember those days like it was yesterday. A Sunday trip to Greenville, SC to a card show with my good friend and we always hit up Morrisons Cafeteria... Man the dang memories. Well, as many others likely did, I got away from the card world as I grew older. But, about a year ago. I decided to relive the nostalgia of opening football and baseball card packs with my awesome wife Tiffany, who has been a great supporter and partner. Who else would let me spend thousands of dollars on football cards lol. We then decided to record and post our pack openings to the world of Youtube. So that other people can be able to watch one of America's favorite hobbies come to the world of video. We also thought it would be a cool idea to battle our packs against each other. Little did we know that was already a thing, but we still enjoy doing every week! We now upload and share our box breaks, pack openings, and speciality videos weekly. To sum it up, I started the Youtube Channel to share the hobby of card collecting, trading, and selling that I so much loved 30 years ago.
Team Smoky & Buttons
Team Smoky and Buttons... By day I own and operate a pretty successful fishing charter business in Murphy, NC and Tiffany is a college professor. Yeah she teaches college english so I need to control my redneck side lol. Our crazy nicknames if anyone is wondering were of course giving to us by friends and family. "Smoky" was giving to me by my awesome brother-in-law well because we live in the Smoky Mountains. "Buttons" was giving to Tiffany by a very close friend. I guess because she's cute as a button! We are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country along with our sidekick dog Juniper. She definitely makes things interesting. You can usually hear her in our Youtube videos chewing on pack wrappers after they hit the floor. If you ever get a chance to visit this area, come hang out with us. We'll talk sports cards and fishing.
Times Have Changed!
Years have passed and like everything in this world, change is certain. Thats most certainly to be said about the sports card hobby. The days of old mass produced wax boxes are, well sorta gone. A whole new era of excitement has arose and taken over the trading card industry. To keep up with this rapid growth and demand for the hobby, SMG Sports Cards became a business. We now sell thousands of sports cards on our very own EBAY store. And, to further boost our every growing business we added our very own breaks to our agenda. It's unbelievable how this hobby has taken over the world of online and social media formats. The community of supporters that back us up have been so incredible. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
